Clubs

  • Student Council – Mondays 3:10 – 3:40 in Room 308. Members Only.

    Sponsors: Naomi Rothrock and Jenna Huttenmaier

    Student Council is a club focused on improving student life and building our school community. We host school dances, self-care nights, spirit events like homecoming week, and more! Through these events, we build student leaders and create opportunities to encourage teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills.

    Spectrum – 1st and 3rd Thursday each month. 3:00 – 3:45.

    Spectrum supports and maintains a positive social environment and safe space for students who identify as LGBTQ+ and allies

    Tabletop Gaming – 2nd and 4th Thursday each month. 3:00 – 3”45.

    Sponsor: Christina Morgan

    Whether you decide to join/start a Dungeons and Dragons campaign or want to pick from our selection of games/Magic the Gathering decks, The Tabletop Gaming Club welcomes you!

    Cosplay and Cons – Every other Tuesday in Room 312.

    Sponsor: Elizabeth Rutledge

    To allow for fellowship of students who enjoy cosplay, anime, sci-fi, comics, etc. and who enjoy attending conventions for said genres.

    Film Club – Wednesdays 3:15 to 5:30 (depending on length of movie) in Room 39.

    Sponsor: Dallas Fields

    Club members meet and watch a film, then discuss the film’s themes, symbolism, and place in pop culture. We watch a good mix of feature-length films that run the gamut from Hollywood classics to blockbusters to Oscar- and BAFTA-worthy films, and just plain fun movies.  Students are encouraged to request films, and the sponsor works hard to accommodate student requests within reason.

    Poetry Out Loud – Days are dependent on Teacher Availability. 3:15 to 4:00.

    Sponsor: Dallas Fields

    This club is an informal group of students who wish to participate in the school-wide, state-wide, and ultimately nationwide contests for Poetry Out Loud, an organization that sponsors poetry reciting contests.  Students sign up and are given access to links from Poetry Out Loud that include the organization’s yearly poetry anthology and examples of performances by previous years’ winners.  Students are then advised to pick poems to recite for the school-wide competition.

     Modern Band – Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 to 4:00.

    Sponsor: Andrew Pham

    Modern Band teaches students to play, perform, improvise, and compose using popular music that the students themselves select. Modern Band focuses on genres like rock, pop, Latin, rap, R&B, country, and more with an immersive approach that empowers students to start playing on day one.

     National Honors Society – Every other Tuesday in Room 311. 3:00 to 3:30.

    Sponsor: Carly Heitland

    The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to serve, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of Harding Fine Arts Academy.

    Naturalist Club – Every other Thursday. 3:00 to 3:00 or 4:00.

    A club dedicated to exploring, understanding, and preserving the natural world. We hike, observe nature, and pick up litter leaving the world a little better than we found it.

    Youth and Government – Every other week. Wednesday 3:10 to 3:30

    Youth and Government, partnered with the YMCA, helps increase student awareness and participation in the community by immersing them in civic engagement and the political process.

    Black Student Association – Weekly Thursday 3:15 to 3:45

    Black Student Association works to uplift and support students in the Black community within our school. We work as a community to promote an inclusive environment for all students.
